The traces on the Sudarium are coincidental with the objects found on the Shroud by Alan and Mary Whanger: label, sandal (the model is the track of the foot on the Shroud). sponge, lance, whips, nails, pliers and phylacteries. It’s possible that over these objects, the thorn crown and the hammer remained. On the superior part of the label, that Rome conserves, there are traces of former calking, that the Sudarium registered. The sandals were put sole to sole, in such a way that the Sudarium registered the track of Jesus’ foot, marked on the sandal. It is probably that the bread registered in an inventory of the Arch of Oviedo, might be the sponge. |  |
