This application was in order to take off the gauze which was used to stuff the nostrils in the descent, translation and deposit maneuvers; the marks of the Face associated to this application are invaluable, since the Shroud was useful to hold, rake out and deposit the gauze, probably on the bandage tied up on the pole to support the legs, and had been retired naked.
