Jesus is hit, the Sudarium snatched and Veronica mocked18/04/2009home|previous|next
After the first application and because of this one, a serial of happenings are given with respect almost all the Sudarium. In the following diagrams each fact is analyzed in separate ways (rollovers).

On the low part of the Sudarium a wrist print with 3 fingers that stroke the back of a feminine hand was stamped. The stroke happened when the hand was on Jesus’ point of the chin. A broad line marks the trajectory. Two fingers on the palm side of that feminine hand cleaning the Face with the Sudarium were registered on the top chin, with a cloth between the hand and the Sudarium.

This stroke turned the Verónica impure by the contact of the Sudarium with the back of her hand.

A second stroke, not so hard and tangent, was received by Jesus on the cheek bone and on the hand that covered his eye.

After the strokes, on the bottom part of the Sudarium some fingers, enclosed in circles, snatches the Sudarium, causing accordion shaped tracks enclosed in discontinuous line.

The displacement of the Sudarium is projected by the previous strokes, which let us know that the left border lines were produced as the cloth slipped over Jesus’ forearm- also projected with discontinuous line- during the Sudarium snatching.

The lines of the right extreme are the slipping of the Sudarium over the hand of Jesus; and the points, its rough slipping over the thorn crown during the snatching.

After the snatching, the soldier bullies the Veronica: the hand holding the Sudarium in the lower part is presented several times, the Veronica takes it and the soldier pulls it once and once again, being the reason of the series of lines over the circles of discontinuous lines that enclose each try out marks, and provoking the Veronica’s fury (anger), that, mocked and knowing that she has become impure, leaves the cloth that was in the middle between her hand and the Shroud and takes the Sudarium directly, (red circle). It was clear to all who were present at the scene, the disdain of the Veronica toward the Law of Moses: on Easter’s eve, she approached to help somebody to Whom had been declared blaspheme, and without fear, had taken a cloth that transmitted impurity.rollover
Still the Sudarium slips from the hand of the Veronica, who takes it again bare handed, but on this occasion the soldier waits for the Veronica, who was furious because of the mocking, applies all her strength, and then, apparently takes the Sudarium with the other hand in dispute of the cloth, but loosens the Sudarium so that the woman may fall on her back, as indicated by the two lines that get loose from the enclosed zone in discontinuous line in direction toward the red circle, which marks the zone from where the Veronica took the Sudarium.

The prints of the Sudarium when was apparently taken with the other hand are in confusion with other prints applied afterwards, under the great blood stain on the middle between the circle and the lines.
