By the way Jesus died, the Mosaic obstacle or impediment of touching the corpse, made easier the handling of the body: once the thorn crown was taken off, It was sufficient to put a long wooden pole in front of the innocent crucified and in front this pole a bandage tied up to practice a harness-the pole had to be as long as the Shroud was: 4.36 m, in such a way as to have been bought rolled on to that pole, displayed as the Jewish tradition- another bandage that went back through the knees was tied to the pole. The head of the nail on his feet, was cut off; each foot was moved with a bandage to pull it off from the nail and, supporting the pole over the scaffold, the body was raised; at the time the pole was raised it was skidding down to let space to the feet bearer; then, the heads of the nails were cut off, displacing the hands the same way to retire them from the nails and place them on the lap. The head bearer only lowered the pole from the scaffold to his shoulder to translate the Body.

And so, as sacrificed lamb or hunting prize, tied with the bandages to the pole, the Face scarcely covered with the Sudarium, Jesus’ Body was taken carried to the sepulcher. Not even that ignominy he was spared.

On the Shroud there’s a blood dripping trail that goes from the renal zone to the back and runs up to its center: coincident with the lowest part of the Body as being carried on by a harness.
